Forced by her father's illness to help shoulder the family's financial
burdens, Kara O'Keefe gives up her dreams of Julliard and a classical career
and takes up teaching violin at a local school.
A reoccurrence of her
father's cancer coupled with a growing debt bring her to pawn Quicksilver,
her precious violin that she inherited from her grandfather. Unknown to
Kara, both she and the violin are more than they seem and in pawning it she
has brought herself to the attention of a power-hungry force who would wipe
her out to gain her power.
Her only hope lies in the fact that she has
brought the violin to a pawn shop called Yesterday's Dreams who's proprietor
is both a friend of her grandfather's and a magical being out of Kara's own
Celtic past. A member of a Celtic race of elves call the Sidhe, it falls to
Maggie McCormick to protect both Kara and her violin and to instruct the
girl in the use of her own magical abilities before it is too late.
