The story unfolds in the far reaches of space where two vastly
different cultures are on the brink of war. Both are
technologically advanced, descended from early Earth colonists,
and determined to dictate their own unique cultural identity;
seemingly without concern for the future.
Hoping to prevent the unthinkable, Erien and Amel race their
rel-ships towards the Gelion homeworld.
Erien, a Gelack of unknown ancestry and mixed Reetion-Gelack
upbringing, arrives on Gelion determined to do whatever he must
to secure Reetion immunity from a Gelack invasion. He soon
finds, however, that he is ill-equipped to make his way in the
hierarchical, violent culture into which he has been thrust.
Amel, who has attempted to balance Reetion and Gelack
interests for some time, now must keep the rivals for the Throne
of Gelion - Ev'Rel and Ameron - from arriving at a final bloody
reckoning.
But will Erien's mission, and the potential discovery and
revelation of the secrets regarding his birth, undo everything
that Amel has worked and suffered for?
And will Amel, who fears that Erien's presence in Gelion might be
the very spark that will lead to the final bloody reckoning, be
able to achieve his goal?
