Staten Island Shakespearean Theatre

Proudly Presents:

The Beauty Queen of Leenane
by Martin McDonagh

Maureen Folan leads a dull life in the small town of Leenane, Ireland. She is devoted to taking care of her aging and increasingly needy mother. One moment their relationship is wildly humorous and the next verges on the cruel, leaving Maureen walking a tightrope fraying as quickly as her already unstable nerves.

As this alternatingly funny and dramatic work unfolds, Maureen struggles to escape her past as well as her present to ensure herself a future at any price.
